American Leader in saltwater tackle PENN Fishing introduces a dependable rod for anglers who need functionality and durability in many different fishing situations and styles. The NEW Mariner III series of fishing rods is the new go-to general-purpose rod for anyone fishing in the salt and on a budget for their gear. Made to handle most species you’ll run into including salmon and steelhead.

The PENN Mariner III rods are made with a tubular glass blank, this gives the rod plenty of strength and durability. This is mated with a heavy-duty graphite reel seat, this ensures a rugged connection between the rod and reel even under heavy loads. This means no flex and twisting even when that trophy is on the line. The guide train for the rod consists of a set of one-piece PENN stainless steel Dura-Guides. The Dura-Guides offer exceptional smoothness and durability and work with both monofilament and braided lines. The rod grips are made from contoured EVA foam. The grips are made to fit perfectly in hand to secure the rod while fighting big-game fish. Select rods have a gimbal butt cap made of either rubber or aluminum, that way when fighting from a belt or harness the rod can’t twist around on you.

Be it for trolling plugs and baits, or casting plugs and spoons, the PENN Mariner III series of rods have at least one option for your saltwater fishing needs. The rods are available in eight casting configurations, three spinning configurations, and Great Lakes trolling configurations. For more information about PENN Fishing products, click HERE.
