Kia Sonet X-Line: Changes Over the Regular Sonet

The highlight of the Kia Sonet X-Line is its exclusive Matte Graphite paint which really makes it stand out as no other colour offered in the Sonet gets a matt finish. It takes inspiration from the Seltos X-Line, which uses the same finish. Kia has altogether skipped the chrome elements in the X-Line trim and it gets a gloss black finish for the front grille. As the changes on the special edition are mostly cosmetic, the ORVMs along with the front and rear skid plate get a piano black finish.

Apart from this, the fog lamp housing also gets a dark chrome treatment, thereby completing the changes on the front profile. Moving to the side, the new 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels with black high gloss treatment are the only visible upgrade, while the chrome elements on the door handles and window garnish remain the same. The X-Line logo is slapped on the right side of the tailgate and everything else remains more or less the same.

Inside the cabin, the X-Line is awarded an all-new Splendid Sage dual-tone theme. The leather upholstery on the seats with contrast orange stitching definitely makes a case for itself. The same theme is continued on the door pads and the X-Line logo is embroidered on the headrests.

As the X-Line is based on the top-of-the-line GTX+, the SUV gets all the bells and whistles such as Crown Jewel LED headlamps with DRLs, projector fog lamps, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose premium 7 speaker system with sound mood lights, front ventilated seats, connected car tech, smart air purifier, remote engine start and more. In terms of safety features, the X-Line is kitted with six airbags, ABS, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Brake Assist, and front and rear parking sensors amongst others.

Kia Sonet X-Line: Powertrain and Price

The Sonet X-Line is available in two powertrain options. The 1.0-litre tGDi petrol engine is good enough for 120 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 1.5 litre CRDi diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter AT and puts out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The former is priced at Rs. 13.39 lakh while the latter will set you back by Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
