Equity benchmarks, Nifty and Sensex, traded sideways with small gains in the early afternoon trade on Thursday, December 30, 2021. At 12:54 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 152.39 points, or 0.26% higher at 57,958.88.

At 12:54 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 152.39 points, or 0.26% higher at 57,958.88. The Nifty 50 index was 29.80 points or 0.17%, down at 17,243.40. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of some of such stocks:

Radico Khaitan: Up 1.57%. Meanwhile, the stock hit a life high of Rs 1,285 per share earlier in the intraday trade today.

Metropolis: UP 0.12%. Meanwhile, the stock hit a life high of Rs3,579.90 per share earlier in the intraday trade today.

Dr Lal Path Labs: Up 1.65%.

IT Stocks: On a move with Nifty IT index trading 1.13% higher. Stocks like Tech Mahindra - up 2.53%; Coforge - up 2.46%; HCL Technologies - up 1.74%; Wipro - up 1,54%; LTTS - up 1.54% and TCS - up 0.89%were trading with gains. Agri Sector Stocks: On a move. Stocks like Aries Agro - up 3.13%; Jain Irrigation - up 2.33%; Rallis India - up 1.70% and Shakti Pumps - up 1.37% were trading with gains.

Auto Ancillary Stocks: On a move. Stocks like Rane Madras - up 13.75%; Rane Brake Linings - up 3.23% Minda Industries - up 2.92%; Automotive Axle - up 3.36%; Federal Mogul - up 1.97%; NRB Bearings - up 1.80%; Subros - up 1.11% and Sona BLW Forgings - up 1.37% were trading with gains. (Zee Business Exclusive) Two front airbags will be made compulsory in passenger vehicles from January 1, 2022, onwards. Sources aware of the development informed Zee Business that the government has no plans to extend the deadline beyond December 31, 2021. The government in the past has extended the date from August 31, 2021, to December 31, 2021. Currently, only one airbag is mandatory in vehicles.

Cement Stocks: On a move. Stocks like KCP - up 4.64%; JK Cement - up 3.29%; Everest Industries - up 1.79%; Bigbloc Construction - up 1.40% and Sagar Cement - up 0.77% were trading with gains.

Chemical Stocks: On a move. Stocks like Paushak Limited - up 6.45%; Oriental Carbon - up 3.45%; Punjab Alkali - up 3.73%; Phillips Carbon - up 3.28%; Kanoria Chemicals - up 3.14% and Jubilant Industries - up 1.77% were trading with gains.

Fertilizer Stocks: On a move. Stocks like FACT - up 11.85%; Mangalore Chemicals - up 1.77%; Madras Fertilisers - up 3.85%; RCF - up 3.11%; NFL - up 2.84% and SPIC - up 2.04% were trading with gains.  

New Entrant to S&O Segment: The National Stock Exchange will add nine stocks to the futures and options segment from the January 2022 series from December 31, 2021. The nine stocks are:

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals (GNFC): Down 2.61%. 

Bajaj Auto: Down 1.88%)TVS Motor: Down 1.31%)

Oil & Gas Stocks: Declining with Nifty Oil & Gas index trading at 0.74% loss. Stocks like IGL - down 2.28%; Petronet - down 1.08%; IOC - down 108%; Hindustan Petroleum - down 0.80% and BPCL - down 0.72% were trading in negative territory. In Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday announced a relief of Rs 25 per litre on Petrol prices for two-wheeler owners coming from the lower and middle-income group. The beneficiaries will start getting benefits of the waiver at Petrol prices from January 26, 2022.

Private Banks: Declining with Nifty Private Bank index trading at 0.47% loss. Stocks like RBL Bank - down 8.45%; Bandhan Bank - down 2.68%; IRFC First Bank - down 2.43%; Federal Bank - down 1.28% and City Union Bank - down 1.27% were trading in negative territory.

PSU Banks: Declining with Nifty PSU Bank index trading at 0.98% loss. Stocks like Union Bank - down 1.38%; Canara Bank -down 1.32%; Bank of Baroda - down 1.30%; Indian Bank - down 1.29%; Punjab National Bank - down 1.08% and Maharashtra Bank - down 1.04% were trading in negative territory.

Realty Stocks: Declining with Nifty Realty index trading at 0.61% loss. Stocks like Oberoi Realty - down 1.86%; Indiabulls Real Estate - down 1.27%; Sun Teck Realty - down 1.17%; Prestige Estate - down 1.12% and Godrej Properties - down 1.10% were trading in negative territory.

Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited: Up 5.82%. KPTL, a leading global EPC player in the power and infrastructure contracting sector has secured new orders/notifications of award of Rs 1,560 crore. The details are as follows:

Orders from India, Africa, CIS and South America in the power transmission business. KPTL’s international subsidiary has secured new power transmission projects in Europe.

Rama Steel Tubes: Up 9.98%. The manufacturers of Steel Pipes & Tubes and G.l. Pipes in India has received orders from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) aggregating to the tune of Rs. 43.3 million.

HP Adhesives: Up 4.99%. Nexus Global Opportunities Fund sells 304,923 shares at Rs 369.20 per share. 

KPI Global Infrastructure: Up 4.99% The company has received confirmation of the order for executing a solar power project of 10 MWDC capacity from M/s. Colourtex Industries Private Limited, Surat under the 'Captive Power Producer (CPP)' segment of the Company.

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries: Up 1.12%. The credit rating agency ICRA Limited has reaffirmed the long-term rating for the Bank facilities amounting to Rs 1099.99 crore at “[ICRA] A+ (Positive)” (pronounced ICRA A plus) with an outlook revised to Positive from Stable.

IRB Infrastructure Ltd.: Up 1%. Mr. Sudhir Rao Hoshing and Mr. Mukeshlal Gupta have tendered their resignations as Joint Managing Director of the Company with effect from December 29, 2021, due to the re-assignment of responsibilities within the Group. Mr. Sudhir Hoshing will continue to hold the office of CEO - Execution. Based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Jose Tamariz Martel Goncer as a Non-retiring additional non-executive Director and Mr. Carlos Ugarte Cruz Coke as an Additional non-executive Director, liable to retire by rotation of the Company. Besides, India’s one of the leading highways infrastructure developers have completed the equity fundraise of Rs 5,347 Crores, the largest equity fundraise by Indian highways infrastructure developers.

IndiGo: Down 1.10%. IndiGo’s two largest shareholders, Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal, who collectively hold 74.44% of the paid-up equity share capital have called an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Thursday to amend its Articles of Association (AoA) and remove restrictions on the transfer of promoter shares.

Varun Beverages: Down 1.03%. The Company has incorporated a New Company i.e. 'Varun Beverages RDC SAS' in the Democratic Republic of Congo to carry on the business of manufacturing, selling, trading and distribution of carbonated and non-carbonated beverages. Paid-up Share Capital stands at USD 10,000 divided into 1,000 Shares of the face value of USD 10 each.
